Nigerian Executives Laud TEXEM Management Education Programme

Emmanuel Efeni Senior executives from various sectors of the Nigerian economy, including two Executive Directors of the THISDAY group, Mr. Emmanuel Efeni and Mr. Isreal Iwegbu, recently completed the executive development programme Leading and Managing Human Capital at one of UK’s foremost business schools, Aston Business School (ABS), Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom.

The programme was organised in partnership with the UK-based TEXEM Consultants founded by Mr Alim Abubakre, a Nigerian based in Southampton, England.

The four-day programme designed to equip participants with strategic insights, leadership skills, and the deep understanding of the modern economy needed to drive growth, achieve superior service delivery and success in a high-performing organisation, is the latest in the series of high profile executive training organised by TEXEM in conjunction with world acclaimed citadels of learning in the UK, including the Manchester Business School, the University of Oxford and University of Reading.

The highly interactive business education sessions were led by three Aston University professors, Uwe Napiersky, Stephanie Decker and Pawan Badhwar who took participants through the nuances of enhancing competences for extraordinary visionary leadership and aligning human capital with competitive strategy

Through business simulation of real company setting, participants addressed strategic challenges that organisations face in emerging markets and came up with solutions for accelerating organisational impact and performance.

Businesses, Academics, NGOS, and the Government have stakes in society and all have an important role to play in promoting economic prosperity without compromising the fragile balance of the ecosystem. As all hands are on deck to get the UK out of the recession there is need for all stakeholders to work together to forestall another downturn- this time related to the environment. Sustainability has to be integrated in business practices not only because it is ethical but because it is also fast becoming an increasingly viable business model – This is paramount especially now that environmental issues are at the front burner and we’ve experienced the life-changing consequences of a recession.
